Swirl Marks

Swirl marks are fine scratches on a car’s paint, often caused by improper washing or drying. They can be removed through polishing, which involves applying an abrasive polish and buffing the surface to smooth out the clear coat. This restores the paint’s glossy, mirror-like finish by eliminating the tiny scratches.

Holograms

Holograms are visible patterns or streaks on a car's paint, often caused by improper machine polishing or buffing with a harsh pad or compound. They can be removed by using a fine abrasive polish and a soft pad, followed by careful machine polishing to smooth the clear coat. This process eliminates the holograms and restores a uniform, glossy finish to the paint.

Water Spots (Mineral Deposit)

Water spots on a car's clear coat are caused by mineral deposits left behind when water evaporates, often from rain or hard water. To remove them, a light polish or a dedicated water spot remover is applied to gently break down the mineral deposits without damaging the clear coat. Polishing smooths the surface, eliminating the water spots and restoring the clear, glossy finish of the paint.

Etchings

Etchings on a car's paint are caused by acidic substances, like bird droppings or bug splatter, that eat into the clear coat if left untreated. To remove them, a light abrasive polish is used to smooth out the surface and remove the damaged layer of clear coat. Polishing eliminates the etchings and restores a smooth, glossy finish to the paint, preventing further damage.

Exterior Detailing

Below is a description of most of the defects that are found and can be addressed while performing an exterior detail. Exterior detailing does cover Paint rejuvenation, where we are more looking to enhance the shine and depth of the paint with out using any cutting abrasives.

Another exterior detailing hightlight is the use of a one cut , or one step pass. This is where I will use one level of cut abbrassive, for example I will use. a medium cut and with a medium cutting polishing pad to remove imperfections on the clear coat. Two and Three step cuts or polishing service could be scheduled although this will incur a higher charge and is something that could be discussed with me. This is also called paint correction in most cases.
